Turkey is the 7th largest agricultural goods producer in the globe. Modern agricultural operations require immense energy for irrigation systems, summing up to %9 of Turkey’s carbon emissions. In these agribusinesses, the owners depend on the energy grid, which supplies %60 of the energy from hydrocarbon-based fuels. Due to the initial investment needed to convert to sustainable and cheaper options, most agribusinesses keep their dependence on grid energy. Solarize is a project that democratises the current energy market by supplying customers with a subscription-based solar energy model.
Compared to other subscription-based energy models, Solarize adopts a decentralised approach to the energy market; solar panels- owned by Solarize- are installed on agribusiness grounds to ensure minute dependence and maximum protection to the energy grid. With this system, the fluctuating solar energy- supplied by solar farms- would not harm the grid system, which depends on ceaseless energy. I created the concept and the business visuals. For the financial, marketing, and business model analysis, I worked with Beste Naz Karaca.
